Since time immemorial Turmeric had been employed dietarily as well as part of Ayurvedic formulations as antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral, hepato protective antiulcer, antiarthritc and many such disease conditions. |
The active ingredient of turmeric is identified as curcumin present to the tune of 2 to 3% in the turmeric powder. Curcumin imparts all the health benefits. Curcumin has been shown to inhibit the estrogen mimicking pesticide residues in the food, water, fruits, milk, vegetables etc. |
Curcumin increases the bile flow to help lower cholesterol. Curcumin is the potent antioxidant of both O2 and N2 species. |
